About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Services Director to join our team at Virgin Atlantic Airways. As a key member of our Inflight Services team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our onboard Food and Beverage service proposition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a Food and Beverage design and planning process for Global Catering Suppliers, Menu Suppliers, and Product Suppliers to ensure menus and products are refreshed as per agreed cycle plans.
  • Develop and implement the In-flight Food and Beverage ambition, aligning with the Food Vision and Principles in each cabin, and meeting customer satisfaction targets and budgets on a per passenger basis.
  • Use competitive awareness and data insight to continuously evaluate the F&B proposition and innovate.
  • Be accountable for live product performance, ratio analysis, and adjustments, and culinary improvement plans, in collaboration with the Operations Team.
  • Support setting of the budget and design to cost (DTC) targets.
  • Support tender and supplier selection activity.
Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with a Catering or Food-related qualification, including Food Hygiene (level 3).
  • Track record of success in managing and delivering significant change through third-party service contracts.
  • Significant and varied supplier management experience, with a clear understanding of the impact of culture, and experience of supplier relationship management best practice.
  • Ability to plan and deliver projects on time and budget, while positively engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong adherence to processes and procedures, keen eye for detail, and ability to identify trends and issues via data insight to inform change requirements and plans of action.
