About the Role

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our team in the acute medical unit and respiratory unit. As a specialist pharmacist, you will provide pharmaceutical advice to these areas and contribute to the development of the clinical service.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing pharmaceutical advice to acute and respiratory medicine areas
  • Developing the clinical service and furthering their own development in these areas
  • Leading the pharmacy medicine team at various points in the week, coordinating workflow and junior pharmacist assignments to optimize patient experience and hospital flow
  • Contributing to clinical projects, quality improvement programmes, and teaching through developing management, leadership, and educational skills
  • Providing general pharmaceutical duties to the various sections of the pharmacy department, including leadership and supervision of supporting staff

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree (or equivalent) in pharmacy
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Postgraduate certificate (or equivalent) in Clinical Pharmacy

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
  • Postgraduate diploma or Master's degree in clinical pharmacy
  • Independent prescribing qualification
