Estates and Legal Advisor Role

Sue Ross Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Estates and Legal Advisor to join their private client advisory team. This is a key role within the team, requiring a strong understanding of estate management and tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of estates from start to finish, with support from senior colleagues as needed.
  • Support colleagues in the team with the management of more complex estates.
  • Prepare IHT returns for estates where relevant, and review less complex cases for others as required.
  • Support the Estate Director with the management of the estate team, processes, and delivery of work.
  • Support with legal drafting of wills, and take will instructions where appropriate.
  • Support with the drafting of LPAs, and lead with the project management of the delivery from start to finish when necessary.
  • Support with the drafting of trusts and other legal documents, where appropriate.
  • Review work of others, as required.
  • Support the Private Client team and other members of the firm with technical skills, management skills, marketing, and networking.
  • Support with business development work, developing relationships with referrers and other individuals, subject to experience.
  • Manage projects from start to finish.
  • Ensure technical knowledge is kept up to date.
  • Take a lead in the development of junior members of the team and help them gain technical and practical experience of relevant tax issues.
