About the Role:
Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Health Physics Supervisor to join our team on a major project. As a key member of our radiological protection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe handling and management of radioactive materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and support the Health Physics team in maintaining radiological oversight and control of assigned buildings.
- Survey and Monitoring: Perform Health Physics surveys (radiation and contamination) and complete Health Physics Survey Reports.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the functioning of Health Physics survey equipment.
- Training and Development: Instruct trainee surveyors and provide radiological coaching to staff.
- Contamination Control: Perform contamination controlled area dresser barrier duties and maintain stock of Respiratory Protective Equipment/Personal Protection Equipment.
- Decommissioning: Supervise and assist with decommissioning activities, including entries into areas with RPE.
Requirements:
- Certifications: City and Guilds level 1 radiological protection.
- Experience: Proven surveying experience, ideally with air fed suit operations.
- Knowledge: Proven knowledge of Radiological Protection, Decommissioning activities, and radioactive waste management.
- Skills: Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
- Security Clearance: Successful applicant must be a British national and must be eligible to hold a DV level of security clearance.
