Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the development of our lung cancer service.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a senior nurse within respiratory medicine or cancer care and will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to patient-centered care. You will be responsible for assessing the information needs of patients and their families, providing relevant support, information, education, and counseling as needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess the information needs of patients and their families and provide relevant support, information, education, and counseling as needed.
  • Support patients with lung cancer throughout their cancer journey, from investigation to treatment and beyond.
  • Ensure continuity of care for patients referred for specialist care by liaison with referring centers.
  • Facilitate the development of practice among staff to promote person-centered care when caring for individuals with lung cancer.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse level 1
  • Teaching qualification
  • Educated to minimum of 1st degree level or equivalent experience
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to specialty
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • MSc or working towards
  • Advanced Communications skills training
