Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the development of our lung cancer service.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in respiratory medicine and cancer care, with a strong focus on patient-centered care. You will be responsible for assessing the information needs of patients, providing relevant support, information, education, advice, and counseling when necessary. You will also work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care for patients referred for specialist care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the information needs of patients and provide relevant support, information, education, advice, and counseling when necessary.
  • Support patients with lung cancer throughout their cancer journey, from investigation to treatment and beyond.
  • Ensure continuity of care for patients referred for specialist care by liaison with referring centers.
  • Facilitate staff development to promote person-centered care when caring for individuals with lung cancer.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse level 1
  • Teaching qualification
  • Educated to minimum of 1st degree level or equivalent experience
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to specialty
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • MSc or working towards
  • Advanced Communications skills training
