About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the LSE Students' Union team as an Operational Manager - Union Spaces and Sport Facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our union spaces and sport facilities, ensuring that they are safe, well-maintained, and meet the needs of our diverse membership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the operational aspects of our union spaces and sport facilities, including facility bookings, health and safety, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and customer service of our facilities, ensuring that they meet the needs of our diverse membership.
  • Work closely with our team to deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring that our members and other users have a positive experience of our facilities.
  • Manage a team of permanent and student staff, external contractors, and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to deliver their roles effectively.
  • Develop and implement plans to increase income from external hires of our facilities, driving surplus and improving quality, customer service, and inclusivity.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of operational management, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and compliance regulations.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve quality and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a team and provide guidance and support to ensure that they are able to deliver their roles effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
