Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams of hydraulic engineers with varying experience levels, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with other design discipline engineers on projects, driving critical decisions and ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Develop robust, reliable, and innovative hydraulic designs, leveraging industry-standard software and expertise.
  • Prepare design reports detailing calculations and key findings, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Estimate and budget man-hours for design tasks, ensuring efficient project resource allocation.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to Health and Safety Regulations and Accepted Industry Practices.
  • Validate deliverables, including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications, in accordance with our Quality Assurance (QA) system.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in hydraulic design within the UK Water Industry.
  • Professional chartership with one of the following institutes: CIWEM, IChemE, IMechE, ICE.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic design principles and experience collaborating with other disciplines.
  • Hydraulic design for water and wastewater treatment works, including HADES analysis and bespoke calculations.
  • Pressurised pipeline system design, including rising mains and pumping stations.
  • Transient analysis and design of surge suppression systems.
