Job Title: Senior Sexual Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sexual Health Nurse to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a Senior Sexual Health Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients, promoting sexual health and well-being, and contributing to the development of our Integrated Sexual Health Service.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in sexual health and contraception, with experience in GUM and HIV services. You will be responsible for providing specialist nursing advice and support to clients, conducting assessments, and developing care plans. You will also work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to promote partnership working, education, and health promotion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist nursing advice and support to clients using/attending the integrated sexual health and HIV clinics.
  • Conduct comprehensive client-centred assessments and develop care plans.
  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to promote partnership working, education, and health promotion.
  • Develop and deliver health promotion programs and services to empower clients to make informed decisions about their sexual health.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare services to ensure seamless care and support for clients.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and qualifications:

  • NMC Registered Adult Nurse (General), Associate member or Diplomate of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health Care.
  • Recognised qualification or equivalent experience working at Band 5 level minimum in areas of relevance.
  • Letter of Competence for Subdermal Implants insertion and removal (or working towards).
  • Intermediate STIF Competencies Certificate in Management (desirable).
