Service Manager Role

As a Service Manager at Pin Point Health & Social Care, you will be responsible for leading a team of staff to deliver a safe and empowering environment for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs. Your role will involve maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and policy, ensuring the service adheres to GDPR, Safeguarding Adults and Children, Health and Safety, Care Act, and housing-related support.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create and lead a high-performing team to achieve individual and service outcomes.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and ensure that your service adheres to the relevant legislation and policy.
  3. Ensure that the service and all members of the team understand and have a strong focus on our clients' safeguarding procedures and legislations.
  4. Ensure that all service and client information is appropriately recorded and shared in line with policy, legislation, and good practice.
  5. Deliver co-produced services that are outcome-based and person-centered.
  6. Support others to challenge discrimination and exclusion in ways that are likely to achieve change.
  7. Deliver services that are safe, complying with all relevant health and safety policies and legislation.
  8. Ensure a commitment to personal development by continually improving learner's own knowledge and practice and that of the team through self-reflection, supervision, and performance management.
  9. Manage and show accountability for service resources through recruitment, retention, and induction; disciplinary and grievance processes, arrears, and voids management, and service performance data.
  10. Ensure that the organisation's strategies are met, and policies, procedures, and values are adhered to in all matters of service delivery.
  11. Work with the Senior Management Team to enable the organisation to develop its aims and objectives by participating in strategic planning and delivery processes.

Person Specification

  1. Ability to lead and motivate a team based across various premises to achieve service outcomes.
  2. Demonstrable experience of managing accommodation-based support services for clients who have complex and challenging mental health issues.
  3. Knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording, reviewing, and auditing service users' support and safety assessment plans.
  4. Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and how to implement policy in practice.
  5. Manage all elements of service performance related to the contract requirements, including analysis of KPIs, outcomes, and user experience measures.
  6. Lead on the development and implementation of the service's annual Business Plans.
  7. Numerate and literate with the ability to interrogate budgets, data, and produce reports.
  8. Able to confidently use a range of IT packages, including MS Office and databases.
  9. Good understanding of housing management and the ability to manage arrears, voids, health and safety, and property standards.
  10. An understanding of co-production and the ability to ensure that the service is delivered in partnership with service users.
  11. Experience of recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, training, disciplinary action, and grievance issues.
