Job Title: Senior Site Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a Senior Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the site engineering team and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Site Manager and deputise for short periods when the Site Manager is not available.
  2. Implement high standards for safety, quality, and environmental management, including method statement briefings, site-specific inductions, and associated paperwork.
  3. Work independently with minimal supervision, using your own initiative to drive projects forward.
  4. Record any service damage and ensure that it is addressed promptly.
  5. Produce and monitor detailed contract programmes in line with Planning Standards, including 2-weekly, 4-weekly, and as-built programmes.
  6. Develop a good understanding of construction outputs and ensure that they are delivered to the required standard.
  7. Write and/or review detailed complex method statements, ensuring that they are accurate and comprehensive.
  8. Manage parts of the cost plan, working closely with the commercial team to ensure that costs are controlled.
  9. Assist in the procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring that the best value is obtained.
  10. Deputise for the Site Manager, taking on additional responsibilities as required.
  11. Chair meetings with customers, designers, sub-contractors, suppliers, and third parties, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged.
  12. Manage contractual letters and correspondence, ensuring that all communications are clear and concise.
  13. Write contractual letters and correspondence, using your excellent communication skills to resolve any issues that may arise.
  14. Develop and implement a HSEQ management plan, ensuring that all site activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  15. Set up and manage office administration systems, ensuring that all paperwork is up to date and accurate.
  16. Order and manage the installation of site IT systems, ensuring that all staff have access to the necessary technology.
  17. Carry out the role of Temporary Works Co-ordinator and/or Crane Co-ordinator, ensuring that all site activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  18. Programme projects to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
  19. Produce realistically resourced reconstruction programmes, which are fully logic-linked and show critical path activities, quantities, and outputs, key dates, procurement details, statutory authorities, method statement production, and approvals.
  20. Allocate small sections of the programme to engineering staff, ensuring that they have the necessary resources to complete their tasks.
  21. Prepare fortnightly construction programmes, drawn from the master section programme, ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
  22. Be aware of the financial targets for the section of works and have regular update meetings with the commercial team to review costs.
  23. Be aware of individual activity costs and those activities which are make or break financially.
  24. Involve sub-contractors in the planning process, ensuring that their detailed plans are incorporated into the section plan.
  25. Enrol the section team in the overall plan, encouraging ownership and involvement by all team members.
  26. Co-ordinate operationally with other section leaders, ensuring that all site activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  27. Monitor the section plan, updating progress and feeding back to the Agent/Project Manager and section team.
  28. Update the plan weekly with as-built information, events (Si's, CVI's, errors) which affect progress.
  29. Review the future critical activities.
  30. Review progress on long-lead-in activities (procurement, design, delivery, stats, manufacture etc.).
  31. Review paperwork, method statements, permits, licenses, etc. are in place for planned work.
  32. Regular planning meetings with the team to debrief previous work, review future work, discuss what ifs.
  33. Review meetings with Project Manager/Agent and QS to discuss events, which have caused delay and/or disruption.
