Job Title: Senior Site Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a Senior Site Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the site engineering team and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Site Manager and deputise for short periods when the Site Manager is not available.
  2. Implement high standards for safety, quality, and environmental management, including method statement briefings, site-specific inductions, and associated paperwork.
  3. Work independently with minimal supervision, using your own initiative to drive project success.
  4. Record any service damage and ensure that it is addressed promptly.
  5. Develop and monitor detailed contract programmes in line with Planning Standards, including 2-weekly, 4-weekly, and as-built programmes.
  6. Have a good understanding of construction outputs and be able to produce and review detailed complex method statements.
  7. Manage parts of the cost plan and assist in the procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers.
  8. Deputise for the Site Manager and chair meetings with customers, designers, sub-contractors, suppliers, and third parties.
  9. Manage contractual letters and correspondence, and write contractual letters and correspondence as required.
  10. Develop and implement HSEQ management plans and set up and manage office administration systems.
  11. Order and manage the installation of site IT systems and carry out the role of Temporary Works Co-ordinator and/or Crane Co-ordinator.
  12. Programme projects to completion and in line with project targets, either by location or work type, depending on the project.
  13. Produce realistically resourced reconstruction programmes that are fully logic-linked, showing critical path activities, quantities, and outputs, key dates, procurement details, statutory authorities, method statement production, and approvals.
  14. Allocate small sections of the programme to engineering staff for them to manually produce detailed programmes showing daily targets and support them in preparation.
  15. Prepare fortnightly construction programmes drawn from the master section programme.
  16. Be aware of the financial targets for the section of works and have regular update meetings with the commercial team to review costs.
  17. Be aware of individual activity costs and those activities that are make or break financially.
  18. Involve sub-contractors in the planning process and incorporate their detailed plans into the section plan.
  19. Enrol the section team in the overall plan and encourage ownership and involvement by all team members.
  20. Co-ordinate operationally with other section leaders.
  21. Monitor the section plan, update progress, and feedback to the Agent/Project Manager and section team.
  22. Update the plan weekly with as-built information, events (Si's, CVI's, errors) that affect progress.
  23. Review the future critical activities.
  24. Review progress on long-lead-in activities (procurement, design, delivery, stats, manufacture, etc.).
  25. Review paperwork, method statements, permits, licenses, etc. are in place for planned work.
  26. Regular planning meetings with the team to debrief previous work, review future work, and discuss what-ifs.
  27. Review meetings with the Project Manager/Agent and QS to discuss events that have caused delay and/or disruption.
