Job Title: Controls and Operations Specialist (6 month contract)

Location: Sector Location

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday.

On-call Rota: Part of on-call rota, working one in every 4 weeks. A willingness to travel is essential (domestic and overseas).

Minimum Requirements:

  1. CCNA level certification.
  2. At least 3 years minimum experience within an IT support role.
  3. Understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN and associated protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).

Desirable Skills:

  1. Hands-on experience with multiple vendors including Cisco & Meraki (Firewalls, AP's and Switches).
  2. Experience working within the Service Now framework.
  3. Knowledge and application of ITIL processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Proactive monitoring of IT systems and preventative measures taken to reduce system downtime.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
  3. Test business applications, network, and server performance, provide performance statistics and reports, develop strategies for maintaining and improving core infrastructure.
  4. Work with Project Management to deliver site deployments/moves.
  5. Adhere to all IT security policies and assist in enforcing and monitoring of IT security policies.
  6. Participate in on-call rota & regular weekend network maintenance.
  7. Perform additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Controls and Operations Specialist. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

You will be responsible for proactive monitoring of IT systems, troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues, and testing business applications, network, and server performance. You will also work with Project Management to deliver site deployments/moves and adhere to all IT security policies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a CCNA level certification, at least 3 years minimum experience within an IT support role, and understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN and associated protocols.
