Job Title: Investigation Officer

Welcome to Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust (WASUT), where we are offering exciting opportunities to join our People Services Team as an Investigation Officer. In this role, you will work across Wales, supporting investigations and employee relations cases with a compassionate approach, following All Wales Disciplinary and Respect and Resolution Policies.

The investigations will cover various concerns, such as behaviors, misconduct, clinical issues, and external factors involving external agencies. WASUT prioritizes psychological safety through our Speaking up Safely platform, enabling anonymous and safe reporting of concerns.

This position is a key role in meeting service requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Show empathy and analytical skills in emotionally challenging situations
  • Prepare thorough reports and present findings at hearings and tribunals
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of employment law and employee relations policies
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues, managers, and trade union partners
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance colleagues' skills and improve investigation quality

Proficiency in Welsh is preferred but not required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

For essential criteria, a master's level of knowledge in relevant subjects, such as HR, Employee Relations, Employment Law, or Investigation, is required. Desirable criteria include knowledge of NHS/Public Sector policies, CIPD membership, or ongoing professional development.

Essential experience involves conducting investigations, report writing, and working at a senior level in HR or management environments. Previous HR department or managerial experience is beneficial.
