Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investigation Officer to join our team at the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust. As an Investigation Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting investigations and employee relations cases, adopting a compassionate practice ethos and adhering to the All Wales Disciplinary and Respect and Resolution Policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into concerns raised about behaviors, misconduct, clinical issues, and external factors involving other agencies such as the police.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and trade union partners based on trust and good practice.
  • Present at hearings and employment tribunals, demonstrating a good understanding of employment law and employee relations policies.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues to build resilience and capacity across the organization, aiming to improve the quality and timeliness of investigations.
  • Collaborate with the Voices network to promote positive change, improve access to support and reporting options for affected colleagues, and provide clarity on expectations of behaviors from all team members.

Requirements:

  • Masters-level knowledge and demonstrable experience in a highly specialist relevant subject, such as HR, Employee Relations, Employment Law, or Investigation-related work.
  • Experience of conducting disciplinary investigations, writing reports, and presenting at hearings and appeals.
  • Experience of working at a senior level within a managerial/human resources environment.
  • Previous experience of working within a HR department or a management role.
