About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in enhancing maternal safety and providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and administrative responsibility for the Obstetric and Gynaecology Department
  • Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and systems to ensure safe and efficient patient care
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide educational and clinical support
  • Participate in risk management activities and contribute to the development of care pathways and clinical guidelines
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to promote close working links and improve patient outcomes
Person Specification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • MRCOG or equivalent
  • Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT
  • Entry onto the Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or within 6 months of CCT date at interview
  • ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
  • Higher degree
  • MOET/ALSO or equivalent training
  • PROMPT trained and faculty
  • ATSM in fetal or maternal medicine
  • ATSM in Antenatal Care/ High Risk Pregnancy or equivalent
  • ATSM in Labour Ward Lead
