Make a difference in Casualty, Environmental

AIG is hiring a UK Environmental Business Line Lead for our team based in London. We're looking for a seasoned professional with an extensive background in Environmental Insurance.

In your new role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the UK Environmental strategy to deliver sustainable profit within target appetite and underwriting controls and governance. This will include:

How you will create an impact

  • Responsible for executing UK Environmental strategy and P&L – including production and profitability through targeted Must Win Battles in collaboration with the London Casualty Manager & Head of International Environmental
  • Understand and drive the AIG Value Proposition to clients and brokers by integrating claims, engineering/CRS and multinational capabilities into day-to-day underwriting practices.
  • Day-to-day leadership of the UK Environmental underwriting teams
  • Drive consistent underwriting best practices and adherence to underwriting guidelines and pricing guardrails in UK Environmental, while acknowledging and collaborating with the Head of International Environmental to ensure consistency in approach
  • Ensure audits, quality reviews and peer reviews are robustly monitored and measured, including implementation of action steps to improve underwriting results ensuring adherence to risk appetite, line setting, standards and guidelines, and ensure rating and pricing adequacy, in collaboration with the London Casualty Manager & Head of International Environmental
  • Oversee portfolio management to direct strategic underwriting decisions to ensure financial and underwriting objectives are achieved in collaboration with the UK Casualty Leadership team

  • In-depth understanding of the UK Environmental insurance market
  • Proven and existing key relationships within the UK Environmental market
  • Broad-based Environmental underwriting experience
  • Ability to manage, direct, coach and develop a team of professional staff
