Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our team. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for supervising and planning drivers and subcontractors, utilizing our company's systems for workload and schedule planning. You will also be responsible for compiling records and completing administration tasks associated with the transport operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and plan drivers and subcontractors
  • Utilize company systems for workload and schedule planning
  • Compile records and complete administration tasks
  • Work in a busy and just-in-time environment
  • Route drivers and equipment with a good knowledge of the intermodal transport industry
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and geographical knowledge
  • Aware of current transport legislation
  • Knowledge of computerized systems, particularly Microsoft Windows packages

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of working in a busy and just-in-time environment
  • Good working knowledge of UK geography
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to individual and team deadlines
  • Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office packages
  • Live within a commutable distance (45 minutes)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Desirable Qualifications:

  • CPC license or other transport industry qualifications
  • Understanding of drivers' hours regulations
  • Experience within the bulk liquid transport industry
  • Knowledge of transportation of hazardous goods
