Community Engagement Specialist

Job Details

Fife Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking a skilled Community Engagement Specialist to collaborate with stakeholders and service users to design and deliver effective services.

The postholder will work closely with people who use services, service providers, and other key stakeholders to establish engagement mechanisms that meet their needs.

Effective communication channels will be established between partner agencies, service users, and communities to ensure that engagement mechanisms align with Fife HSCP vision, values, and outcomes.

In return, we offer a competitive salary with incremental progression, and you will join the local government pension scheme. Dependent on your role, we offer flexible working arrangements, standby, call out, and unsocial hours payments.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the application of the National Standards for Community Engagement, the Scottish Health Council Participation Toolkit, and the Scottish Government Planning with People Guidance.
  • Previous experience of working with people who use services, including unpaid carers and communities, to effect change and overcome barriers to engagement.
  • Strong connections with stakeholders to understand their unique needs and challenges.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, partners, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Maintaining accurate information on various systems and databases.
  • Attending regular team meetings and board meetings.
  • Preparing presentations and designing engagement and consultation activities.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to cope with strongly expressed views.
  • Ability to travel throughout Fife.

Requirements

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
