We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our staff, students, and visitors, as well as providing a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service.
Main Responsibilities- Security Operations: Monitor CCTV, access control, and other protective systems, and respond to incidents or fault reporting.
- Physical Security: Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure security, and use university keys to open and close buildings.
- Escort Services: Provide escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty, as necessary, and provide other public assistance, such as lockout services and routine information.
- Customer Service: Provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors, and staff, and control the key press and issuing of keys.
- Incident Reporting: Compile accurate incident reports where appropriate and requested.
- Site Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment to ensure buildings, valuables, or people are safe and secure.
- Health and Safety: Ensure buildings, valuables, or people are safe and secure, and supervise the door for a large organization.
- Ad-hoc Support: Provide ad-hoc support for our security operations.
- Communication Skills: Ability to interact with employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and management, as well as local police and fire authorities.
- Security Knowledge: Excellent awareness skills and ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Experience: Experience in working in a similar role, and possession of a Door Supervisor License - SIA door supervisor.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of security techniques, site and local emergency procedures, and GBS values and regulations.
The Security Officer will also be expected to demonstrate their commitment to GBS values and regulations, including equal opportunities policy, and to their Health and Safety responsibilities to ensure their contribution to a safe and secure working environment.
