About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Fitter to join our team at National Grid Electricity Distribution. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the safe construction, maintenance, and repair of the electrical power network. This is a challenging role that requires a strong understanding of electrical knowledge and skills to install and maintain high-voltage plant and apparatus.

As a member of our team, you will work in and around substations, using your electrical expertise to ensure the safe operation of the power network. Your responsibilities will include routine inspection, maintenance, and repairs of substation and protection equipment, as well as recording asset routes, details, and positions. You will also work in all weather conditions and have a strong focus on safety awareness and meeting deadlines.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have GCSE English at Grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 Functional/Key Skills English, GCSE Mathematics at Grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 Functional/Key Skills Maths, and GCSE Science at Grade A*-C/9-4 or BTEC Science Level 2 equivalent. Additionally, you will need two other GCSEs at A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 qualifications in any subject. If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check.

The salary for this role is £17,649 per annum, with opportunities for career progression and professional development.
