Your Role as a Support Worker

We are seeking compassionate and proactive individuals to join our team as Learning Disability Support Workers. In this role, you will play a vital part in helping individuals with learning disabilities achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with service users, creating a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable expressing their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate with service users to develop personalized care plans that promote independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
  • Provide person-centered care, respecting the dignity and rights of each individual. This includes assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their well-being.
  • Support service users in accessing community resources and engaging in meaningful activities that enrich their lives.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating openly and respectfully with colleagues, families, and other professionals involved in the individual's care.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities and a commitment to their well-being.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as required.
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is preferred but not essential. Comprehensive training will be provided.
