Job Title: Learning Disabilities Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join our team at 5 Star Recruitment. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling lives, promoting their independence, and supporting them in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care, cooking, and cleaning, to ensure individuals' needs are met.
  • Support individuals to access community-based services and facilities, promoting social inclusion and participation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to ensure high-quality care and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet each person's unique needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, preferably in a support worker role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep shifts, to meet the needs of service users.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
