Children's Care Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Care Worker to join our team at a 5-bedded Children's Residential Service in Telford. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people aged 8-18 who have experienced early childhood traumas.

As a Children's Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the young people in our care, enabling them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and nurturing environment. You will work closely with the team to create a homely and friendly culture, promoting the young people's independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Encourage and support the young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the young people.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to the young people, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each young person.
  • Support the young people in managing challenging behaviours, using positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation strategies.
Requirements:
  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential, with a minimum of 1 year's driving experience.
  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting or with challenging behaviours is desirable.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
