Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Clinical Lead to join our established team in the Dementia Assessment Unit at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with a passion for dementia care, development of services, and knowledge of supervision and audit processes.

Key responsibilities include providing clinical leadership within the ward team, promoting a high standard of patient care, and supporting the Ward Manager in delivering a high-quality mental health service.

Main Duties

1. Source of expertise for clinical practice for the care team, demonstrating a high level of patient care through role modelling and supervision.

2. Undertake audit of evidence-based interventions to ensure continued best practice.

3. Engage with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient-centered care planning.

4. Assess, evaluate, and advise staff on care planning and discharge planning.

5. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the identification and management of risk.

6. Develop ways to improve efficiency and patient care.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications include NMC registration as a registered nurse (RMN or RNLD) and evidence of continued professional development.

Desirable qualifications include knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.

Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment, supervision experience, and working with service users with severe mental health problems are essential.

Secure services experience is desirable.
