Nurse (Learning Disability Service) Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Swift Ward, Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our inpatient team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional mental health care to service users experiencing crisis.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the clinical aspects of being a Band 6 Charge Nurse, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Take an active part in the assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for service users in collaboration with inpatient multi-disciplinary services.
- Liaise with colleagues and carers to ensure they are fully aware of all aspects of a service user's care and treatment.
- Identify individuals' care needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans and risk assessments in collaboration with other teams and professionals.
- Maintain lines of communication with all departments and staff involved in a service user's care.
- RMN/RLDN or Dip/Bsc (Hons) in Mental Health/Learning Disability Nursing ENB 998/Preceptorship and Mentorship.
- Post-registration experience at Band 5.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information, where persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathic, or reassuring skills are required.
- Ability to deal with distressing circumstances and challenging behavior.
- Experience of risk assessment and management.
- Ability to cope with an unpredictable work pattern and frequent interruptions.
- Understanding of legal framework MHA, MCA, DoL, safeguarding, and social factors involved in care.
- Supervision skills.
- Leadership and management training.
- 5% on top of basic salary high cost allowance supplement (max £2,122 per annum).
