Nurse (Learning Disability Service) Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Swift Ward, Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our inpatient team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our patients experiencing mental health crisis.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the clinical aspects of patient care, ensuring the highest standards of treatment and support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for patients.
- Provide clinical supervision to junior staff members and contribute to the development of the ward team.
- Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and carers, maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient autonomy.
- Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and other meetings to discuss and review patient care.
- RMN/RLDN or Dip/Bsc (Hons) in Mental Health/Learning Disability Nursing, with ENB 998/Preceptorship and Mentorship.
- Post-registration experience at Band 5, with evidence of continuing professional development.
- Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information, using persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathic, or reassuring skills.
- Experience of risk assessment and management, with the ability to cope with an unpredictable work pattern and frequent interruptions.
- Understanding of legal frameworks, including MHA, MCA, DoL, safeguarding, and social factors involved in care.
