About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Mental Health Practitioner to join our Specialist-CAMHS team, working with children and young people in an established multi-disciplinary setting. As a Care and Treatment Co-ordinator, you will hold an individual caseload and contribute to improving the lives of young people experiencing mental distress.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake initial assessments and develop care packages for individuals under your care.
  • Provide psychological-based therapies under the CAPA model, including Choice and Partnership sessions with children and adolescents accepted into Specialist-CAMHS services.
  • Work as a care co-ordinator and undertake the Care and Treatment Plan (CTP) role for young people requiring ongoing support under Part 2 of the Mental Health measure.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced nurse with practical and theoretical knowledge of mental health assessment and the ability to offer evidence-based therapeutic interventions for young people with Specialist-CAMHS presentations.

The successful candidate will have a good record of Continuing Professional Development to postgraduate diploma level and knowledge of Local and National developments in relation to Specialist CAMHS. They will also have knowledge of child protection, Children Act issues, and other relevant legislation.
