About the Role

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Specialist-CAMHS team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work with children and young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties, providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and contributing to their care and treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and develop care packages for individuals under your care
  • Provide psychological-based therapies under the CAPA model, including Choice and Partnership sessions
  • Work as a Care Coordinator and undertake the Care and Treatment Plan (CTP) role for young people requiring ongoing support under Part 2 of the Mental Health Measure
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and young people

Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered Nurse Learning Disability with NMC registration
  • Good record of Continuing Professional Development to postgraduate diploma level
  • Knowledge of Local and National developments in relation to Specialist CAMHS
  • Knowledge of child protection, Children Act issues, and other relevant legislation
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-qualifying award in childcare or therapeutic practice
  • Recognised therapeutic qualification and accreditation (e.g., Family Therapy, CBT, CAT)
  • Knowledge of and experience working in mental health, including with children and young people with serious mental health problems
Language Skills

We welcome applications from English and/or Welsh speakers. Knowledge of the Welsh language is desirable, but not essential.
