Your new company, HMPPS (HM Prison and Probation Service), is the MOJ (Ministry of Justice) agency responsible for carrying out sentences given by the courts. As a Prison Security Escort at HMP Holme House, you will be working with Hays, the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Documenting contractors' tools and equipment
  • Escorting contractors to their work area, ensuring all security gates and doors are locked accordingly
  • Ensuring the safekeeping of contractors and their tools and equipment while work is being carried out
  • Escorting contractors back to the main gate of the prison, ensuring all security gates and doors are locked accordingly
  • Documenting contractors' tools and equipment upon leaving the establishment to ensure nothing has been misplaced

You will be flexibly deployed to provide a range of other support service activities within operational areas of the establishment when required. This is an operational support job with no line management responsibilities.

Requirements:
  • No previous experience or qualifications are required
  • Security consciousness and ability to challenge potential compromises of risk
  • Reliability

Please note that this role does not require driving. You will need to provide documentation for security clearance by the prison, which Hays will organize for you. You must also hold a valid passport or birth certificate and photo driving license at your current address.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a prison environment, which will enhance your chances of gaining permanent employment with the MOJ direct. You will be paid weekly with a premium rate of £11.44 per hour and receive all the relevant training for this role.
