About the Role

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team in a prison environment. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide individualized care to patients with complex health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage substance misuse cases
  • Conduct reception screening and provide agreed care packages
  • Undertake physical health observations and provide clinics such as Phlebotomy, ECG, and NHS health checks
  • Deliver health promotion and sexual health services

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • ONVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or currently studying in the final year of a degree in nursing
    • Demonstration of experience working with people with complex health needs in a health or social care setting
    • Knowledge of nursing standards gained through NVQ qualification or equivalent experience
    • Understanding and application of confidentiality
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge or experience working within a prison or secured environment setting
    • Experience in responding to emergency situations
    • Experience in using SystmOne
    • Experience working with individuals with Substance Misuse needs
