Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Healthcare Support Worker to join our team in a Health and Justice setting. As a key member of our multi-disciplined healthcare team, you will provide individualized care for patients in a prison environment.

Main Responsibilities

Our services include:

  • Substance Misuse monitoring and support
  • Reception screening and assessment
  • Providing agreed care packages and health promotion
  • Undertaking physical health observations and clinics, such as Phlebotomy, ECG, and NHS health checks
  • Sexual health services and support

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or currently studying in the final year of a degree in nursing
  • Demonstration of experience working with people with complex health needs in a health or social care setting
  • Knowledge of nursing standards gained through NVQ qualification or equivalent experience
  • Understanding and application of confidentiality
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

We would also consider candidates with:

  • Knowledge or experience of working within a prison or secured environment setting
  • Experience in responding to emergency situations
  • Experience in using SystmOne
  • Experience of working with individuals with Substance Misuse needs
