About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Haematology department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care and coordination for patients undergoing Apheresis procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical knowledge and oversight to the nursing team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate the Apheresis area within the Haematology day unit, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures to ensure best practice in Apheresis care.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Apheresis service, working closely with senior management and consultants to ensure the service meets the needs of patients and staff.
  • Participate in education, research, and audit activities to advance the body of knowledge in Apheresis care and contribute to the development of practice in others.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and relevant post-qualification specialist course.
  • Extensive experience of working autonomously at an advanced level within the specialist area, delivering effective patient-focused care.
  • Proven evidence of management/leadership skills and autonomous practice.
  • Previous experience of student supervision and clinical education at undergraduate level.
  • Experience of delivering patient advocacy, working well within multidisciplinary teams, and responding to patient feedback.
  • Experience of audit, research, and evidence-based care, as well as delivering change management both personally and as a facilitator.
