Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Ophthalmology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and coordinating the department team, and delivering intravitreal injections as per rota.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, and provide specialist ophthalmic nursing advice to patients.
  • Carry out specialist nursing procedures, including surgical patients.
  • Lead and coordinate the department team, ensuring effective running of OPD and providing senior site cover when required.
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to junior staff, students, and undertake research, lead clinical audits in own specialist area.

Person Specification:
  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of quality, standard setting, benchmarking, and audit.
  • Experience of quality improvement, standard setting, benchmarking, and audit.
