Data Protection and Information Governance Specialist

About the Role
The University of Northampton is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join its Data Protection and Information Governance team as a Data Protection and Information Governance Officer. This is a 12-month fixed-term position that will play a critical role in supporting the team's manager on data protection, freedom of information, legal compliance, information governance, and records management.
About You
We are looking for a graduate with some previous experience of responding to freedom of information and data subject access requests who is keen to develop expertise in data protection and information governance. You will be an excellent communicator, able to work across the organisation and with members of the public calmly and effectively. You will be comfortable taking on a wide range of tasks to support a small team and will be able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of the University's policies, procedures, and guidance for data protection and information governance.
- Assist in responding to freedom of information and data subject access requests.
- Work with the team to ensure compliance with data protection and information governance regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on data protection and information governance.
