Northampton, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom Leonid Group Ltd Full time

About the role

The Leonid Group Ltd is seeking a Data Protection Specialist to join their Legal & Compliance function. Reporting into the Legal & Compliance Manager, the role will primarily support the company in ensuring good data governance and handling day-to-day privacy operations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Dealing with DSARs (supporting the DPO) as well as DPIAs and Third Party Risk Assessments.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders including: Procurement, Information Security team, internal and external Auditors and the ICO.
  • Support the Legal Manager in developing and implementing data protection policies and controls across the business.
  • Keeping the business up to date on developments in data privacy legislation.

What's on offer?

This is an interesting time for the organisation which has invested significantly in its Legal function over the past couple of years as they continue to grow their operations. The role has been specifically designed to give a development opportunity to those with some privacy experience who would like to further develop their expertise with support from the Legal Manager, DPO and General Counsel.

The budget for this position has been set at £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE) and the company operates under a flexible working policy. There is no minimum requirement to be in the office other than for key meetings.

About you

Previous experience in a data privacy role is essential and you will need existing knowledge of data privacy laws in the UK (and ideally EU) including with GDPR and the DPA 2018. Ideally, you will also have previous exposure to DSARs, DPIAs and Third Party Risk Assessments.

A clear passion to work in the privacy space is essential and a willingness to get stuck into both BAU and complex project-based work.
