Job Description

Pre-Admission Lead

Rivers Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Pre-Admission Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will have current NMC registration and post-registration experience in either acute/surgical, outpatient, or pre-assessment environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Pre-Admission Department, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and clinic schedules.
  • Undertake clinical activities, including supervision and pre-admission clinics, while maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
  • Participate in Clinical Governance, conducting audits and investigating incidents/complaints to ensure a safe and effective service.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring care and services are safe and of high quality.
  • Supervise a team of staff, allocating work, encouraging development, and conducting appraisals/job performance reviews.
  • Support the Ambulatory Clinical Manager with staff absence management and rostering staff to optimize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments involved in the pre-admission process to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Demonstrate outstanding clinical practice and accountability for actions.
  • Provide professional supervision and support to junior staff.

Requirements:

  • A strong clinical background and NMC registration as a General Nurse.
  • Immediate Life Support certification and excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Previous leadership experience and a passion for delivering excellent clinical and customer care, with a commitment to efficient team working.
  • High standards of clinical competence and awareness of NICE guidelines on clinical assessment and routine tests for elective surgery.
  • Experience and confidence in meeting compliance to the Governance Framework and a comprehensive understanding of relevant legal and professional care/practice standards.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business and a passion for delivering an excellent patient-focused service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with evidence of current CPD.
