Job Title: Heat Tracing Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Thermon. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing heat tracing systems that meet our customer specifications and ensure customer satisfaction and Thermon profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications and documentation to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work.
  • Follow project requirements, quality, schedule, and other technical restrictions.
  • Follow established processes and procedures, including the Project Design guide, Project Execution Guide, Quality Plan, and provide input.
  • Interact and engage with customer representatives on technical issues.
  • Create and review drawings using Thermon software or methodology.
  • Prepare and review drawings for accuracy; check and approve drawings prepared by other designers.
  • Conduct site surveys to gather information required for heat tracing design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in heat tracing design.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

We are looking for a collaborative and innovative Design Engineer who will design heat tracing systems based on our customer specifications to successfully ensure customer satisfaction and Thermon profitability.

As a Design Engineer, you will identify requirements from customers' drawings, specifications, instructions, and Thermon quotations. In addition, you will prepare heat tracing isometrics, distribution board and cable schedules, wiring diagrams, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and location plans. Our design team works on small to medium projects simultaneously where you will collaborate with other designers, engineers, and project managers as well as utilize drafting technology and Thermon software to design heat tracing systems.

Key Responsibilities

Review of all project specifications and documentation necessary to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work.Follow project requirements, along with expectations on quality, schedule or other restrictions of a technical nature.Follow established processes and procedures including Project Design guide, Project Execution Guide, Quality Plan and provide input.Provide input in the development of Global and Regional tools and procedures as required.Interact and engage with customer representatives on technical issues.Create and review drawings using Thermon software or methodology.Prepare and review drawings for accuracy; check and approve drawings prepared by other designers.Conduct site surveys to gather information required for heat tracing design.

Experience

Bachelor's Degree of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent preferred.Minimum 3 years' experience in heat tracing design.Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Requirements

Working technical knowledge of piping and insulation systems is preferred.Working knowledge of P&IDs (Piping & Instrument Diagrams) is preferred.Understanding of Codes and Standards that pertain to heat tracing is preferred (IEEE 515, IEC/IEEE NEC, IEC, etc.)Proficiency in AutoCAD software is preferred.
