Senior Legal Counsel Position

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join our team in Mid Devon. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in ensuring legal compliance across all areas of business operations and providing strategic legal advice to support business objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, customers, partners, and other third parties.
2. Ensure full compliance with GDPR regulations and implement and maintain data protection policies and procedures.
3. Liaise with external partners to manage company secretarial duties, including filings, registrations, and statutory compliance requirements.
4. Work closely with HR colleagues to provide legal guidance and support on employment law matters.
5. Monitor regulatory developments and advise on regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have at least five years' post-qualification experience in the UK and be a confident Commercial Lawyer who can work independently and advise on a variety of matters when needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven technical knowledge of procurement and supply chain contracts, including negotiation and management.
• Experience in company secretarial practices and statutory compliance requirements.
• Beneficial experience in managing general insurance programmes and employment law matters.
