About the Role

Mid Norfolk Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting six GP practices and linked care homes across the Dereham area.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the clinical pharmacist at Primary Care Network Level to lead improvements in prescribing practices.
  • Carry out medicines switches in GP practices, reviewing patient records, amending records, and informing patients.
  • Conduct housekeeping, dose optimization, and medicines synchronization while maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Improve prescribing processes in general practice, promoting electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering.
  • Report on key performance indicators for CPGP, demonstrating added value for patients and general practice in accordance with NICE guidance.
  • Utilize and maintain relevant information systems and databases, including incident reporting, medicines optimization, prescribing data, cost savings, and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with GP practices and the ICB to achieve shared goals.
  • Participate in practice meetings, patient participation groups, and other meetings to enhance engagement.
About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Professional registration with GPhC.
  • BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy.
  • Demonstrated experience working with other clinical professionals and as part of multi-disciplinary teams to influence patient care.
