About the Role

Mid Norfolk Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking a highly skilled pharmacy technician to support the team in improving prescribing practices and patient care. The successful candidate will lead improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing, working closely with the clinical pharmacist and other healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the clinical pharmacist in leading prescribing improvements across the PCN.
  • Carry out medicines switches in GP practices, reviewing patient records and amending as necessary.
  • Conduct housekeeping and dose optimisation in patient records, promoting medicines synchronisation.
  • Improve prescribing processes in general practice, promoting electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering.
  • Report on key performance indicators to demonstrate added value for patients and general practice.
  • Use and maintain relevant information systems and databases.
  • Work closely with GP practices and the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy, with professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and a BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences. They will also have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community or hospital pharmacy.
