About the Role

Mid Norfolk Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking a highly skilled pharmacy technician to support the clinical pharmacist at Primary Care Network Level. This is a full-time position with flexible working options.

The successful candidate will lead improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing, improving the quality of patient care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the clinical pharmacist in leading prescribing improvements.
  • Carrying out medicines switches in GP practices, reviewing patient records, amending records, and informing patients.
  • Conducting housekeeping, dose optimisation, and medicines synchronisation in patient records.
  • Improving prescribing processes in general practice.
  • Promoting electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering.
  • Reporting on key performance indicators for CPGP, demonstrating added value for patients and general practice in accordance with NICE guidance.
  • Utilising and maintaining relevant information systems and databases, including incident reporting, medicines optimisation, prescribing data, cost savings, and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with GP practices and the ICB.
  • Participating in practice meetings, patient participation groups, and other meetings to enhance engagement.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Professional registration with the GPhC.
  • BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy.
  • Demonstrated experience working with other clinical professionals and as part of multi-disciplinary teams to influence patient care.

About Us

Mid Norfolk PCN consists of six GP surgeries working collaboratively as a group. The successful candidate will be part of this team, contributing to the improvement of patient care and the development of better understanding of medicines optimisation principles throughout the practice teams.
