Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing piping systems and pressure equipment for various clients in the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze piping systems and pressure equipment for complex energy projects
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to capture requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Work in a collaborative and supportive office/site environment, with a minimum of half of your working week spent in this setting
  • Develop and maintain a high level of commercial awareness to effectively deliver tasks for multiple workstreams and meet time, quality, and cost requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification)
  • Experience in piping and pressure vessel design and stress analysis
  • Ability to write accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports
  • Comfortable engaging with clients, working at their sites, and understanding their issues, goals, and processes

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in a safety-critical and heavily regulated environment, such as nuclear power generation/decommissioning industries
  • Chartered with a relevant professional institute (or approaching application for registration)
  • Experience with design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN13445
  • Experience in tool/assessment automation, preferably in Python
  • Demonstrable experience of requirements capture and task specification
  • Demonstrable experience in authoring bids
  • Process design
  • Site support and installation supervision
  • PESR and PSSR compliance
