Strategic Leadership for Children's Social Care Services

About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strategic leadership role for a range of statutory children's social care services, ensuring that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is paramount. This includes the development, implementation, and monitoring of an annual business plan, effective performance management, and identification of risk and capacity issues across the held portfolio of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the development, implementation, and monitoring of service plans, policies, projects, and frameworks within Children's Social Care, including the interpretation of national policy guidance and application in line with strategic priorities.
- Implement and maintain Liverpool's child protection procedures and standards, ensuring consistent compliance and reporting any barriers to compliance or improvement to Liverpool's Safeguarding Children's Partnership.
- Act as lead representative on various groups/panels both locally and regionally, and chair the Legal Gatekeeping Panel making decisions on whether a child should enter pre-proceedings or whether care proceedings should be initiated.
