Job Opportunity: Mental Health Practitioner for Veterans

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in supporting veterans with complex mental health needs. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with veterans, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic assessments, psychosocial interventions, and evidence-based psychological therapy.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team providing mental health and wellbeing care and support for veterans in the North of England. You will be based in West/South Yorkshire and will be required to travel extensively across the region. The post requires a high level of understanding of the difficulties experienced by veterans and the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical assessments of need, including risk and safety, and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Deliver a range of psychosocial interventions, including psychoeducation, anxiety management, graded exposure, and emotional regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with psychological therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Provide evidence-based psychological therapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and other evidence-based approaches.
  • Liaise with charities and local organizations to support wider health and wellbeing needs.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of working with individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Experience of working as a care coordinator within the community.
  • High level of understanding of the difficulties experienced by veterans and the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and communities.
