Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic team in East Sussex. As a specialist in histopathology, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the trust's vision of providing 'Outstanding' care.

The successful candidate will have a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science or equivalent, along with state registration and postgraduate specialised training evidenced by completion of IBMS specialist portfolio or equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team to deliver scientific services to patients and customers to aid pathological diagnosis.
  • Deputise for senior team members and assist in workflow management.
  • Support with the management of documentation and general overall performance.
  • Play a vital role in the training and development of junior scientific staff.
About the Department

Our department is proud to be part of the Sussex Pathology Network, working towards a consolidated and collaborative pathology network. We went live with Digital Pathology in November 2023, positioning us at the forefront of innovation in pathology services.

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including Continuing Professional Development opportunities and a dedicated Training officer within our department.
