About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Dorset HealthCare. As a key member of our employability service, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals between 16-30 years old with application writing, interview skills, and other employment support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing therapeutic experience with mental health clients with challenging behavior
  • Developing and delivering group skills training
  • Teaching DBT principles and practice to individuals and groups
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff members
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support to clients

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized professional qualification in a mental health profession (Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy)
  • Therapeutic experience with mental health clients with challenging behavior
  • Group skills and teaching experience
  • Positive experience of supervision and reflective practice
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable the post holder to carry out the role effectively
  • A valid UK driver's license
