About the Role:GSL Education's South Yorkshire branch is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join a supportive Secondary School in Huddersfield. As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure classroom environment, identifying and addressing any hazards or risks, and responding appropriately in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students are engaged in learning activities and maintaining discipline.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials from the absent teacher, facilitating student engagement through guided activities and providing assistance as required.
- Oversee student work during the lesson, ensuring students stay on task and complete assigned activities.
- Provide support and encouragement to students who require assistance, while also monitoring behavior and managing any disruptions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Experience in a similar role with secondary school children or within an educational setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Having relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field is a plus.
- Currently residing in the UK.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service.
- Passion for education and student support.
