Barclays, a leading global bank, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Privacy Manager to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our data protection team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing robust governance frameworks for data and records management across our global operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, coupled with previous experience in supporting highly detailed data governance enterprises. You will be responsible for ensuring that Barclays' data privacy practices are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of our data assets.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Identifying and assessing potential risks related to data privacy and implementing measures to mitigate these risks and enhance overall data protection.
  2. Developing and implementing an effective incident response plan for data breaches and coordinating with relevant teams to investigate and address incidents promptly.
  3. Providing data privacy training and awareness to employees by educating them about their data privacy obligations, how to manage personal data securely, and how to identify and report data privacy breaches.

You will also be responsible for identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements to the data privacy programme, as well as developing and implementing Barclays' Data Privacy strategy aligned with the bank's business objectives and regulatory requirements.

In addition, you will define and enforce data privacy policies and procedures to ensure data protection, security, and compliance, partnering with stakeholders to drive improvements in the understanding, appropriate use, and protection of personal data.

A comprehensive salary package of £80,000 - £120,000 per annum is available for this position, commensurate with experience.
