Barclays, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Privacy Manager to join our team in Glasgow.

About the Role

This critical position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining robust governance frameworks for data and records management across our global operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Barclays' data privacy practices are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identification and assessment of potential risks related to data privacy and implementation of measures to mitigate these risks and enhance overall data protection.
  2. Development and implementation of an effective incident response plan for data breaches and coordination with relevant teams to investigate and address incidents promptly.
  3. Provision of data privacy training and awareness to employees by educating them about their data privacy obligations, how to manage personal data securely, and how to identify and report data privacy breaches.
  4. Identification of areas for improvement and implementation of enhancements to the data privacy programme.
  5. Development and implementation of Barclays' Data Privacy strategy aligned with the bank's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  6. Definition and enforcement of data privacy policies and procedures to ensure data protection, security, and compliance.
  7. Partnering with stakeholders to drive improvements in the understanding, appropriate use, and protection of personal data.
  8. Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data privacy governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  9. Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
